CASPER, Wyo. — With successful stores on the east and west sides of Natrona County, local vape shop Dr. Chronic’s Concentrates and Vapes on Saturday celebrated the grand opening of its newest store in Casper. It is located at 840 CY Ave.
Dr. Chronic’s began as a Casper-based business roughly three years ago before relocating to Evansville in 2023. Since then, it has built up a loyal customer base that allowed it to open a second location in Mills in fall 2024. Now, the local business has returned to the heart of the Oil City.
“It feels amazing,” owner Cielo Guerra said with a smile. “We’ve been waiting for the right time and the right spot to move back into Casper, and we think we finally hit it on the head.”
Guerra said the work needed to get the store ready for business was extensive, but that it only feels all the more rewarding now that it’s open.
“Five different people and dozens of people played a hand in getting this place ready,” he said.
The newest Dr. Chronic’s — housed in the former Backdoor Lounge location — marked its grand opening in style. The event featured music by DJ Nyke, drinks, a food truck, tattooing and more.
“It’s been great,” Guerra said. “People have been in and out all day, the turnout was way better than we expected; we’ve served over 200 meals today.”
Catching people’s eyes from the road was a purple monster truck emblazoned with the Dr. Chronic’s logo.
“We thought, ‘instead of getting billboards and posters around town, let’s just get a mobile billboard,’” Guerra said with a laugh. “We got the biggest truck we could, did it custom inside and out.”
While some vape shops have struggled since the Wyoming legislature banned synthetic products like delta-8 and delta-9, Guerra said Dr. Chronic’s has been able to thrive. He says this is in large part due to the 24/7 delivery service that the business has operated since its inception.
“Whether you’re getting off work late, getting off work early, hosting a party at your house, coming home from the bar or just can’t make it out to the store, we’ll deliver to you anytime,” he said. “That’s a service no other vape shop in Wyoming offers. … It’s been absolutely vital to us.”
General manager Tina-Marie Carter added that their knowledgeable and friendly staff play a big role in the business’s success.
“We’re open to all walks of life, and I’ve had multiple people tell me that they feel comfortable when they’re at Dr. Chronic’s,” Carter said. “Our people are able to teach and explain our products to customers, to help them understand and figure out what works best for them.”
